When we talk about the Backlinks, the common words coined that are Do follow and No Follow Backlinks.

These two are the major types of backlink in Search Engine Optimization. In this post I will try to explain about Nofollow and Dofollow. This post is especially for beginners and for that webmaster that are still confused about the difference between both the backlinks, for those this post will be useful.

What is a No Follow Backlink?

A No follow backlink do not allow bots of search engine to follow link. It is basically a backlink that does not pass on the Search Engine Optimization benefits of the source website or webpage to the particular site or blog where the link points to. That means if the site owner is linking back to you with no follow attributes, it doesn’t pass on link juice. Only a person will be able to follow the link. Some time back Google has officially made it clear that they do not consider no follow link attributes but weightage of such links are really less. Even though, it’s a good to use No follow backlink attribute to those link, where you do not want to pass link-juice.

The nofollow tag or attribute is basically a notice sign for search engines saying “don’t count this”.

What is a Do Follow Backlink?

Do follow links allow search engines to follow them and reach Webmaster’s site, giving us link juice and a back link. A do follow link is a backlink that will pass on the Search Engine Optimization benefits of the site where it is built from to the hyperlinked website. If a webmaster is linking back to you with the backlink both humans and Search Engines will be able to follow it. The easy and authentic way to give do follow link is allowing keyword in the anchor text. This means when you are linking to any web page or site, use the targeted keyword as anchor text. Back links that are created from high PR sources will pass on the link juices.
So, while doing SEO it is essential to concentrate your backlink building activities on sources that allow you to build Do follow links. These links will remarkably enhance your site and increase your rank in Search Results.

Note: By default the hyperlinks are do follow. So, you do not need to do anything to make it link Do follow.
