Umesh Reddy is a serial rapist and serial killer from India. He confessed to killing eighteen women, and was convicted in nine cases. The police believe that he raped at least twenty women in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Karnataka High Court sentenced Umesh to death in 2009, a decision upheld by the Supreme Court in 2011. After Reddy filed a mercy petition, the Supreme Court commuted his death sentence to a thirty year sentence in 2022.
